(20120106)@#@@#@內容簡介(英文)@#@ Chiang Chao-shen (style name Jiaoyuan), a native of Shexian, Anhui, excelled at poetry, calligraphy, painting, seal carving as well as the study of Chinese painting history.
Chiang was a student of Pu Hsin-yu and strongly influenced by him in the use of brush and ink. Chiang’s paintings emphasize poetic lyricism, preserving much of the tradition of literati painting. He did mostly landscape paintings, often incorporating actual Taiwan scenery into his works, with his compositional arrangements having a strongly personal manner. This is one of his few ink bamboo paintings. Done with untrammeled cursive brushwork, dark ink spills forth with light and elegant tones as well. This painting was done in the late spring of 1993.
Ms. Tsai Ho-pi donated this work to the National Palace Museum in 2009.
