The lower part of the work is left blank to balance the distribution of solid and void. To one side of the foreground cliff is a cascade echoing through the mountains and leading the viewer’s line of sight down into the misty valley below. On the other side is a mountain path winding up into the mountain forests and out of sight, also leading the viewer upwards to linger about there. The result is as if one were personally there in the painting. In the background mountains is an area of trees stretching left and right, creating a serene feeling that calms the senses and encourages the viewer to share in the peace and quiet.(20100409)
