- 參考資料收藏著錄@#@王新衡先生遺贈書畫展目錄，頁41、52@#@@#@內容簡介（中文）@#@謝稚（西元一九一○－一九九七年），字稚柳，晚年號壯暮。江蘇常州人。少時工六法，及長遍歷名山大川，所見益廣，並曾至敦煌，臨撫年餘，畫風驟變，用筆意境在六朝、唐、宋間。以花鳥、山水見長。曾任中央大學藝術系教授多年。鑽研中國書畫史，亦精鑒賞。深得時譽。 此幅繪一雀棲於荷梗，轉頭回顧。構圖明淨單純，色彩交融流麗，筆墨精到。 本幅為王新衡先生捐贈。@#@@#@內容簡介（英文）@#@Hsieh Chih-liu, a native of Kiangsu, studied law as a youth. He also traveled and saw much of the country. He went to Tunhuang, where the ancient paintings influenced his style as a painter. His brushwork thus reflected a range of ancient styles. He excelled at bird-and-flower as well as landscape painting. For many years, he was professor of art at Central University in Peking. Also a connoisseur and historian of Chinese painting and calligraphy, he was renowned in modern times. This work shows a sparrow perched on a lotus stem and truning to look back. The composition is simple and straightforward. The colors are beautiful and brushwork excellent.
