收藏著錄@#@鄭曼青先生書畫特展目錄,頁8@#@@#@內容簡介(中文)@#@ 鄭曼青(西元一九○二-一九七五年),號玉井山人,浙江永嘉人。曾為上海美專教授,擅國畫、書法、詩文,兼善醫術及拳術。作品以花卉為主,筆墨渾厚俊逸,間作山水,落筆草草而生意盎然。此幅繪松、刀、梅於一畫面,俗稱「歲寒三友」,象徵高潔的品格和正直、堅毅的精神,完成於己酉年(一九六九),為其客居紐約時所作。
本幅為丁惟莊先生捐贈。

Cheng Man-ch’ing (1902-1975)
Republican Period
Cheng Man-ch’ing, a native of Chekiang, served as a professor in the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts. He excelled at painting, calligraphy, and poetry and belles-lettres. He also was studied in medicine and martial arts. His paintings are mostly of flowers done with mature and free brushwork. He also did landscapes with cursive and lively brushwork.
This painting shows the subject of pine, bamboo, and plum blossom, which is known together as “The Three Friends of Winter”. By withstanding the adversity of winter, they symbolize the scholarly spirit of integrity, virtue, and purity. This painting was completed in 1969 during Cheng’s visit to New York.
