(20110407)@#@@#@內容簡介(英文)@#@ Wen Zhengming (original name Bi, style name Zhengzhong, sobriquet Hengshan jushi) was a native of Suzhou, Jiangsu. In earlier years he wanted to pursue an official career but later left office and returned home, focusing on his poetry, calligraphy, and painting as he became a leader of middle-Ming art circles. Despite the title of this handscroll, at the end is another poem entitled “Qingming at Xuzhou,” which is likewise found in Wen’s collection of poetry entitled Anthology of Putian. Though most people admired Wen’s small regular script, his large semi-cursive script is also quite impressive, and this handscroll was written with the force of large waves expanding over the surface. This work was donated by Ms. Chang Wei-chen (Mrs. Lo Chia-lun).(20110407)
