曹恕先生捐贈於民國84年。(20110204)@#@@#@內容簡介(英文)@#@ Tsao Jung (style name Qiupu; sobriquets Danlu and Laoxian), who descended from a Zhangzhou family in Fujian, was born in the Dadaocheng district of old Taipei. Lofty and refined, he led the traditional life of a Confucian scholar-teacher. He came to excel at calligraphy and spent over eighty years of his life dedicated to teaching it. As a result, he had a major influence on the development of calligraphy in Taiwan.
The content of this scroll is a regulated verse in five-character lines, in which Tsao Jung’s calligraphy is clearly seen as coming from the manners of Yan Zhenqing and Liu Gongquan. In it, the rounded brushwork and rich thick lines come from the style of the early Qing calligrapher Liu Yong. The density throughout the work is orderly, revealing a personal style that is plain and simple.
Mr. Tsao Shu donated this work to the National Palace Museum in 1995.(20110204)
