(20100711)@#@@#@內容簡介(英文)@#@ This scroll is a transcription from the first half of “Chapter 24 of the Bodhisattva of Wondrous Sound” in The Lotus Sutra. Though this scroll was remounted, the paper it is written on is slightly yellow, similar to the color of hemp paper for transcribing sutras in Dunhuang. The paper size is also about 23.5cm tall and 46.4cm long, with grids at the top and bottom measuring 19.8cm. This along with the format of 17 characters per line accords with that of writing sutras in Dunhuang. The style of Dunhuang sutra writing stood out in the Sui dynasty, the characters in this scroll vigorous and stout, being more similar to the mid- or late-Tang dynasty style instead. This work was donated to the Museum by Messrs. Tann Boyu and Tann Jifu.(20100711)
