內容簡介(中文)@#@吳昌碩(一八四四-一九二七),原名俊,又名俊卿,浙江安吉人。早年跟隨父親讀書,繼因太平天國戰亂與家人離散,居無定所。二十一歲返鄉後,始得自修苦讀,考中秀才。吳氏一度擔任知縣,因志趣不合離任,此後潛心詩文、書畫、篆刻,成為「海上畫派」代表人物之一。吳氏篆書用功〈石鼓文〉最深,晚年入古出新,開拓新風貌。此幅書聯從〈石鼓文〉集字而成,筆力蒼勁饒有古風。(20110913)@#@@#@內容簡介(英文)@#@Wu Changshi (original name Jun and also named Junqing) was a native of Anji in Zhejiang. In early years, he learned with his father and, due to chaos caused by the Taiping Rebellion, was separated from his family, moving around with no fixed abode. After returning to his hometown at the age of 21, he began to study by himself in earnest, passing the prefecture examinations as a Cultivated Talent. Wu at one time served as Prefect, but his ambition was not in officialdom, so he left his post. Afterwards he devoted himself to poetry and prose, painting and calligraphy, and seal carving, becoming one of the representative figures in the Shanghai School of painting. Wu in seal script reveals his greatest effort in Stone Drum script, in later years innovating on tradition to forge a new style of his own. This work is a couplet based on characters from the Stone Drum script, the brush force strong and full of archaism.(20110913)
