(20120713)@#@@#@內容簡介(英文)@#@Tao Junxuan(1849-1915), a native of Shaoxing in Zhejiang, was a late Qing calligrapher. Originally named Zuwang, he had the style name Wenchong and the sobriquets Xinyun and Donghu jushi. In calligraphy he studied from a variety of styles but particularly excelled at Wei stele inscriptions, which contemporaries quite admired. The Suzhou “Hanshan Temple” and “Hanshan and Shide” steles came from his hand as well as the two characters “Bowan” at the Yichang cliffs along the Yangtze. In addition, the “Guangxu tongbao” characters on various minted coins also derive from his calligraphy. This couplet in regular script features spacious and slightly flattened characters, the brush force powerful with clear angles and much of the manner of Wei dynasty steles.
