Thus, the cost of making a tapestry is much greater than that of ordinary woven articles. Tapestries were made for appreciation and collecting. The themes chosen were often joyous and festive subjects that conveyed ideas of blessings or congratulations.
This tapestry portrays two plump birds sitting next to lush leaves with opulent red blossoms. Thus, this work suggests the themes of prosperity and wealth, imparting an atmosphere of joy and blessing.
