His landscapes belong to the tradition of Kuo Hsi but also reveal the influence of the early Yuan painter Chao Meng-fu. In a thatched pavilion on the bank of a stream, a man strums a lute while three others listen attentively. Walking along a narrow path, a servant boy approaches, bringing wine. Several men sit in a boat being poled along the stream, the figure on the bow perfectly expressing the pleasure of carefree wandering. The boulders along the bank are executed in "cloud" texture-strokes and are treated with a round, wet fullness, reflecting the influence of the Northern Sung painter Kuo Hsi.
