Four sparrows playfully chase one another in wind add much charm to this autumn scene of refined delineation and brilliant colors. There is no inscription on the painting, but the label says that this is modeled after a painting of the Yuan dynasty artist Wang Yuan (fl. ca. 1299-1366). Though the original is not extant, the style of this painting is similar to what we know of Wang Yuan’s.
