A pavilion has been built by the edge of a lotus pond and is surrounded by slender stalks of bamboo. Inside are four figures, while four others are seen in a nearby boat picking lotuses. Bamboo bending under the weight of their leaves serve to separate the two parts of the composition as well as add color and stability. The result is a fitting description of a line describing a summer day; "Lifting the pole, the surface of the water breaks into ripples. I quickly get my basket to pick and gather the lotuses." This work is the 7th Ieaf from Album of pairited Silk Fans.
