@#@@#@內容簡介(英文)@#@Lu Tsung-k’ai was a native of Jen-ho, Chekiang. A Presented Scholar (chin-shih) of 1723, he served as Chancellor in the Directorate of Education and served to the post of Minister of War. Lu, of wide learning, researched such ancient books as the Rites of Chou, Analects, and Mencius, using such texts as Records of the Grand Historian for verification. This handscroll from the former Ch’ing court collection includes 120 kinds of the character “shou” (longevity) written in gold ink on red silk. The characters include seal script as well as Mongolian, Tibetan, and Uighur translations for a rich array, with upright and regulated small regular script to identify the various script types. At the end is his signature, “Reverently sealed by Your Servant, Lu Tsung-k’ai.”
