此札寫於建炎、紹興間,信中借調海船一事,可見當時海路發達,又有「沿海制置使司」,在南宋中期則由原本軍事職,而兼有查禁走私與協助海商的民政功能,是因應對外貿易發達而調整。此為吳說早期書蹟,結字略寬乃承襲鍾繇,通幅字蹟富變化行筆流麗,源自王羲之,充分反應南宋初年的復古風氣。(20101015)@#@@#@內容簡介(英文)@#@ Wu Yue (style name Fupeng, sobriquet Liantang) was a native of Qiantang (Hangzhou, Zhejiang). A famous calligrapher of the early Southern Song, he learned from the ancient manners of Jin and Tang dynasty calligraphers, his regular, running, cursive, and plaque scripts being equally fine.
This letter, written during the Jianyan and Shaoxing eras of the early Southern Song, deals with the loan of a seafaring vessel, demonstrating the development of sea routes at the time. Furthermore, it mentions the post of “Coastal Military Commissioner.” In the middle Southern Song this was originally a military position serving the civilian functions for suppressing smuggling and assisting maritime trade, but it was then adjusted in response to the rise of foreign trade. This letter is also an example of Wu Yue’s early calligraphy. The character forms are slightly broad and still in the Zhong You heritage. The characters throughout reveal many changes in the flowingly beautiful running script that traces back to Wang Xizhi, fully reflecting a revivalist trend in early Southern Song calligraphy.(20101015)
