文徵明,本名壁,字徵仲,號衡山,江蘇蘇州人。早年有心從政,後來罷官回到故里,潛心詩書畫,成為蘇州地區藝文領導的中心。文氏子姪眾多,能傳家學,從學門生也多數發揮所學,書畫風格對後世深具影響力。這件千字文分別用楷、草、隸、篆四體寫成,雖然名款為文徵明,書風也近於文徵明,卻可能出於陸士仁之筆,是相當成功的臨仿作品。(王競雄)@#@@#@內容簡介(中文)@#@文徵明(1470-1559),長洲(今蘇州)人。初名壁,四十二歲後以字行,改字徵仲。因祖籍湖南,故自號衡山居士。此卷始作於嘉靖乙未(1535),費時年餘乃成。據其學生周天球所述,他年輕時以臨寫千字文為日課,故所流傳千文作品甚多。全卷分別以楷、草、隸、篆四體書寫,楷、草的筆鋒挺秀,法度嚴謹純熟,至於隸、篆則多顯楷法,用筆銳利勁挺,反映出當時的時代風格。@#@@#@內容簡介(英文)@#@ Wen Zhengming, a native of Changzhou (modern Suzhou), originally was named Bi but later went by his style name Zhengming after the Chinese age of 42. Since his ancestors came from Hunan, he also had the sobriquet “Layman of Hengshan.” This scroll was begun in 1535, requiring more than a year to complete. According to a description by his student Zhou Tianqiu, Wen Zhengming in his early years copied the “Thousand Character Classic” as part of his daily lessons, therefore accounting for his numerous renditions of this text. The entire scroll here is divided into the four script types of regular, cursive, clerical, and seal, the calligraphic methods being exacting and practiced. The clerical and seal scripts, in particular, often reveal elements of regular script techniques. The brushwork is sharp and forceful, reflecting the period style of the time.
