(20120713)@#@@#@內容簡介(英文)@#@ Yan Zhenqing (style name Qingchen) was native to Linyi, Shandong. A Kaiyuan (713-741) Presented Scholar, he was known as “Yan, Duke of Lu.” Yan synthesized the virtues of previous calligraphers for a new style combining hard and soft features, greatly influencing later calligraphy. This work comes from Yan’s calligraphy of his own appointment to office. The brushwork is strong and exacting, the forms steady and solid, making it a rare fine model for regular script. The original, formerly in the Qing imperial collection, is now in Japan. This album is in “Calligraphy of the Sanxi Hall,” which has Qing imperial engravings of Wei-Jin to Ming dynasty calligraphy. Completed in 1750, it is one of the greatest collectanea of Chinese calligraphy.
