(20110710)@#@@#@內容簡介(英文)@#@Ouyang Xun (style name Xinben) was a native of Linxiang, Tanzhou (modern Changsha, Hunan). In the Sui dynasty, he was Erudite of the Ceremonials Chamberlain and in the early Tang was Supervising Secretary. His calligraphy has traces of the Southern Dynasties spirit harmony, to which he added the strong, thin, stiff qualities of northern steles, forming his own “Ou Style.” At the end of this work is the signature, “Written by the Director of Watches, Ouyang Xun, on the 1st day of the 10th month in 635.” Xuanzang, translator of The Heart Sutra, was then still at Nalanda Monastery in India studying Buddhism and had not yet returned to China. Also, this work does not show the strength and power of the Ou Style, so his name was probably later added.(20110710)
