內容簡介(中文)@#@湯貽汾(西元一七七八—一八五三年),江蘇武進(今江蘇常州)人。字若儀,號雨生,晚號粥翁。以祖父難蔭,襲雲騎尉,為三江守備,歷官粵東、山右浙江,咸豐癸丑太平天國克金陵,闔門殉清廷而死,諡貞愍。工詩文,擅書畫。
依據幅上作者的題識,本幅乃湯氏一門的合作之畫。其中,湯貽汾畫墨梅,其妻婉貞繪水仙,茶花則出自其子湯祿名之手。全作設色清雅,筆致秀逸。此幀為蘭千山館寄存。
@#@@#@內容簡介(英文)@#@Tang Yifen (style name Ruoyi; sobriquet Yusheng and later Zhouweng) was a native of Wujin (modern Changzhou, Jiangsu). Due to his meritorious grandfather, he was able to rise in officialdom, serving as a brigade commander in Sanjiang and also in eastern Guangdong and Shanyou in Zhejiang. In 1853 rebels of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom attacked Jinling, and Tang and his family all died in the name of the Qing court. Posthumously entitled Zhenmin, he was gifted at poetry and prose while excelling at painting and calligraphy.
According to the artist’s inscription, this is actually a collaborative work by the Tang family. Tang Yifen painted the plum blossoms in ink, his wife (Wanzhen) did the narcissus, and his son (Tang Luming) did the camellias. The coloring throughout the entire work is pure and elegant, done in exceptionally beautiful and untrammeled brushwork. This painting was entrusted to the National Palace Museum from the Lanqian shanguan collection.
